Top Things to Do in Vermont in the Summer

If you love nature, scenic drives and good food, then Vermont would be the ideal place for you to visit. Embarking on an adventure into the unknown and really experiencing the outdoor beauty Vermont has to offer. Regardless of whether you are a couple who cherishes serenity, a family, or a group of friends who love adventure, visiting Vermont for a summer holiday will give you an unimaginable experience.

Visitors love Vermont for its gorgeous scenery, endless outdoor opportunities, custom farm crafts, ski resorts, locally grown food and the best tasting maple syrup.

Enjoy Nature

You will never get bored discovering Vermont – home to over 100 waterfalls and covered bridges with 21 state parks, there is endless amounts of outdoor beauty to explore! Be sure to visit a local favorite – The Arlington Green Covered Bridge.  It is the most photographed and painted covered bridge in the state of Vermont!

Scenic Drive

Enjoy a drive to the sky!  Located between Arlington and Manchester from historic Route 7A, you can ascend the longest privately owned, paved toll road in the U.S. to the top of Mount Equinox. Don’t look past this unforgettable drive to the summit of the highest peak in the Taconic Ridge!

Vermont’s Farmers’ Market

There is nothing as refreshing as eating fresh supplies that ascertain your well-being. When you visit Vermont, you have an opportunity to add value to your life by shopping for fresh goods at Vermont’s Farmers’ Market.  A local favorite is the quintessential Arlington Farmers Market located on historic Route 7A, offering fresh fruits and vegetables, local cheeses, organic meats, jams, jellies, and preserves, unique crafts and, of course, small-batch Vermont maple syrup.

Ride a Thrilling Mountain Coaster

If you visit Vermont, don’t leave without visiting Killington’s Beast Mountain Coaster and enjoy twisting and turning on wood for up to 4,800 feet. You can also enjoy thrilling rides at Ludlow’s Okemo Mountain Resort Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster. Here, you can have smooth forest-side rides with breathtaking views!

Visit Ben and Jerry’s

Another activity that can add value to your trip is taking a thirty-minute guided tour at the Ben & Jerry’s factory located in Waterbury, VT.  You can see what happens behind the scenes and understand many factory aspects, including how the various ice cream flavors are made.

Fly Fishing

Visit Manchester’s American Museum of Fishing and see what happens at England’s fly-fishing capital. Have the chance to explore the various fish-related artifacts. You will also see the great legends’ rods like Babe Ruth’s and Winslow Hamer, among others.

Pin for later!

Vermont is the place to be for the summer holiday to create an unforgettable summer exploring its beautiful scenery while making lasting memories!
