Last week I shared details on one of my new favorite spots in Orlando: Icon Park. And one of the park’s main attractions is the incredible Museum of Illusions. Daniel and I loved it so much that I just had to give it a separate blog to tell you all about it!
At the Museum of Illusions, you’ll find a fascinating mix of mind-bending scenes and puzzles, from rooms that make you look like you’re levitating to trippy murals that shift dimensions as you move! There is literally something to see around every corner, and it’s easy to lose yourself in the moment.

This blog will share some of the basic info you need to know and give you a quick tour of the museum. Don’t forget to watch the YouTube video below because some illusions are meant to be seen in motion!

FAQS about the Museum of Illusions Orlando
How long does it take?
It only took us about an hour to get through. However, we definitely could have spent longer if the group behind us wasn’t moving so fast. We had to keep social distance, so that pushed us to go a bit faster.
What kind of stuff will I see?
There’s a little bit of everything here, including trick mirrors, optical illusions, puzzles, false perceptions, tricks of the light, and more!

Where is the Museum of Illusions located?
It’s located in Icon Park on International Drive, Orlando. (8375 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819) The entrance is to the right of the Wheelhouse Market.
How much does it cost?
Base admission to the Museum of Illusions is $20.95. However, you can bundle your ticket with other attractions at Icon Park for a discount.
Is this good for kids?
Yes! This museum is a great way to teach your kids some science and math in a super fun way.
Is this good for adults?
Yes, again! There are illusions here that people of all ages will enjoy. Personally, I thought it made a great date activity, too!
Highlights of the Museum of Illusions Orlando

The museum has over 50 exhibits, ranging from mind-bending pictures to interactive rooms. There are also a ton of great photo ops to capture the moment and trick your friends later!
Here are a few of my favorites to give you a taste of what to expect:
False Rock Wall
One of the first exhibits you’ll encounter is a rock wall. However, this one is a bit different. The handholds are on the floor, and the ceiling is lined with angled mirrors to make it look like you’re climbing when you’re actually lying down.

Colored Shadows
When you block out different waves of light, you can change the colors of your shadow! This fun room makes your shadow pop in 3 different colors with modified lighting.

Topsy-Turvey Beach Room
My favorite room of all was probably this funny beach-themed setting. At first glance, I managed to reach the rafters (an epic feat for someone who’s 5’4″) and am somehow pulling Daniel up with me!

In reality, this scene is rotated 90-degrees clockwise. The furniture is glued to the walls, and the rafters are upright instead of horizontal. But the final result is pretty fun, right?
The Little Chair
This illusion cracked me up because it made Daniel look so tiny!

To make this illusion work, 3 of the chair legs are freestanding several feet in front of the seat. The seat and 4th leg are on the back wall and floor to increase the perception that Daniel is tiny and the chair is huge.
Levitation Room
Is Daniel floating? Nope, just a trick mirror! A well-placed mirror allows you to stand on one leg behind the mirror while raising the other to create the illusion of levitation!

Freefalling Tunnel
This little room features an infinite tunnel where you freefall from the top and into the next section.

As you probably guessed, this illusion is created by flipping the picture upside down. The museum even put their hashtags on the wall upside-down to accommodate it, haha.
The actual tunnel was pretty cool, too. Mirrors created the infinite tunnel effect.

Galaxy Tunnel
This exhibit is less an illusion and more a mind-tripping display. The galaxy tunnel features spinning colors and stars that make it very hard to maintain your balance! Your brain has a hard time registering the flat floor with the constantly shifting sky.
Altered Perception Mural
Near the end of the museum, you’ll see a series of hallways and doors painted on one wall. At first glance, it’s just a quirky painting. But as you move around it, the image shifts with you!
This is actually a 3-D mural created in just the right way to throw you off guard! It becomes more clear once you realize what’s happening. But that first glance is startling!
The Card Game
The final exhibit in the museum is yet another fun twist with mirrors. You approach an empty card table, but when you look up, all the seats are full…with you! This simple illusion places you at every spot around the table, making it look like you’re playing cards with yourself!

If you’re a fan of illusions and puzzles, you definitely don’t want to miss this whacky museum on your next trip to Orlando! You’ll learn a lot while being thoroughly entertained, and it definitely makes for some photo ops as well!
There’s also a gift shop at the end of the museum where you can buy your own puzzles and illusions to take home. You can try the puzzles out at this station before you buy them, too!
