ViBe Creative District: A Free Street Art Tour

I absolutely adore street art. Whenever we visit a city, I keep my eyes peeled for vibrant murals decorating old buildings. They give such a unique character to every area and are an amazing way to bring life to otherwise drab streets. We’ve been fortunate to experience a lot of amazing street art this past year all over the U.S., including the Atlanta Beltline, the NEON District, Detroit, and today’s focus, the ViBe Creative District.

The ViBe Creative District turns several blocks of shops into a wildly varied art display just behind the popular boardwalk area of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

While wall murals are trendy in many cities (and my personal favorite), Virginia Beach takes their street art even further with painted sidewalks, crosswalks, fences, and sculptures!

My head was constantly swiveling as we walked through the district because there was no telling where the next mural would pop up! We also discovered many cool murals and buildings in this area that weren’t even on the tour map, so I’m glad we were willing to explore and deviate from the path.

This area is also full of awesome local businesses that you wouldn’t get to experience if you stuck to the main boardwalk! You’ll find coffee shops (Three Ships Coffee has a blend that tastes like Cherry Cola), art studios, restaurants, jewelry stores, surf shops, and more, most of which are adorned with unique and eye-catching murals.
